WebShare, the powerful and user-friendly webFTP explorer
WebShare is a web2.0 open source project written in Ajax/PHP, designed to handle files and folders hosted on one or several distant FTP server through web-based interface.
With a simple browser, you can view, copy, edit or save you Web documents as easily as they were on your own computer. But especially, you can access and share it from anywhere!

In a completely skinnable interface, upload and download multiple files, create picture galleries, view properties of each document, add comments, modify your web pages or your text file with the online editor, listen to you Mp3 audio files directly...
The administrator can create many accounts or share points with precise restrictions and keep control on all the users and documents.

Jul 26, 2009 : New version 0.8.2β available for download !

As the time that I can devote to the Webshare project (already limited) is gradually decreasing, in order to not make you waiting longer, the new version is now available for download as a "nightly build" of the 0.8.2. However named as 'alpha', this version brings fixes, new features, and a better stability.

Please note that proper functioning is not guaranteed! Use this version if you encounter problems with the old one, or if you install WebShare for the first time.

In addition to the rewrite of many features such as drag and drop, the application interface has changed considerably:
All dialogs open now in windows, support for ImageMagick to provide an overview of various formats directly in Webshare. The file bookmarks are now functional and displayed in a management panel, menus have been improved to provide better flexibility, and so on.

As application users asked for specific features, the most common requests were fulfilled: users may modify their own preferences easily. One or more accounts can be set as "public."
The text editor enriched a color code with CodePress, and a real time preview!
Integration of media players has been improved, and support for VLC player added, to read any type of streams. Of course, a thorough debugging has been done, particularly in the administration panel.

I would like to apologize for not being able to track better and be more present in the forum.
I would like to thank the contributors for reporting bugs (and sometimes even patches), the new themes and adding support of new languages, and thanks all users for their patience and positive feedback.

Oct 16, 2008 : New version 0.6.5β released and available for download !

In the continuity of the last alpha, this new version brings a lot of consistent improvements : LDAP authentication, easy opening in an iframe, direct fonts preview, etc..
Fully compatible with browsers such as Firefox3 or Chrome, a great attention was given at the interface which is now based on PNG images and provides a better finish.
The administration and information management has again been completely revised to provide a functioning impeccable, and modules such as text editors or video player adjusted to fit perfectly to the application.
And a very careful global bugfix, as you will see ... 0.6.5β a version which is almost a final version!

Jun 5, 2008 : Version 0.6.5α available :

This brand new version of Webshare contains major improvements over application structure, but also in term of features :
First of all, the management of distant FTP servers is now fully operational, to exchange any documents between several servers.
Small files can now be sent directly by email from Webshare, with a incredible ease.
Any pictures in web format (jpeg/gif/png) can be resized and rotated in just some clicks, directly on the server.
Administration panels was rebuild to fix known bugs, and in the way to integrate the database management, all informations and preferences can be stored either in configuration file or in the database.
